Structuring for Success

Structuring your business means creating teams (or "legs") of customers built under "leaders." When you structure correctly, you set yourself up to achieve certain ranks and receive bonuses as well as support customers in the best possible way. Each time you have a new enrollment, you have 14 days to "place" that person on a team leg. We recommend placing customers under committed business leaders and using a combination strategy of placing for Power of 3 bonuses and rank achievement. Rest assured that your business mentor will help you make the best decisions along the way.

Terms:

Enroller = the person who enrolled a customer with their wholesale or wellness advocate account.

Sponsor = the person (team leg) who the enroller decides to place the customer or wellness advocate under. Think of it like this, as an enroller, you choose a "team" (sponsor) to place the customer under so you can build a solid business. This decision is made within 14 days of the enrollment and should always be discussed with your mentor to maximize your earning potential. Here is a video on how to select the sponsor.

Enrollee = the person who purchased a wholesale or wellness advocate account

Leader = someone who has opted into a doTERRA business and places a 100 pv LRP order each month to earn commissions

Structuring for Power of 3

Power of 3 bonuses are based on committed users or builder/leaders placing 100+ pv LRP orders each month. When placing a new leader, always consider your Power of 3 structure. We do not recommend placing customers below your 2nd level until well into your doTERRA business. The first step is to get your $50 monthly bonus while setting yourself up solidly for your $250 bonus (with your leaders getting their $50 bonus). Placing further down often creates an unstable business structure (if someone drops their 100 pv order, you risk losing your bonus). Print this Power of 3 Planner Worksheet to help you stay on track.

Structuring for Rank

The first step in structuring your business is to achieve the rank of Premier by creating two teams for yourself. Even though it may take time to get there, it's good practice. The Premier rank means your are building an expanding team while earning a bonus each month to pay for your LRP and supplies (~$190 a month!).  We recommend using a Planner to help you develop your business plan. Download a Rank Snapshot Worksheet here to keep track of your business plan and progress. Each month, we suggest a Month in Review Worksheet to plan for their upcoming business needs.

What if I don't have builders but want to reach Premier right away? You should hit the ground running, enrolling new customers right out of the gate. Most of your business leaders will come out of those first customers. If you don't have a business partner or two when you get started, consider using "placeholders." This is family or friends that agree to have a doTERRA Wellness Advocate account temporarily (pays $35 to sit on your front line so you can build teams) and then when you find your first interested business partners, they transfer into that placeholder position. While you are looking for that special leader, you will place all of your new customers under the placeholders, creating team legs to get you closer to Premier, and building legs to get your business legs to Premier too. Once you find a committed builder, you transfer that team to your new builder through an enrollment and then submit an account transfer within 3 days of enrollment. Confused? No worries, your mentor walks you through it. It makes more sense once you have customers.

What if someone decides they don't want to do this as a business anymore but they have a team?

In this situation, a Wellness Advocate can request to downgrade to a Wholesale Customer and you can put a new person into their position (must be done within 72 hours of each other). The new person can be a completely new enrollment or a wholesale customer (customer only) who upgrades to a Wellness Advocate (business). The person who downgrades just moves over to the side and can continue to order and maintain their account benefits.

Value of the LRP

Building a financial pipeline is based on your customers loving their oils and products and using them regularly. Once you have customers on LRP, you are able to get your Power of 3 bonus more reliably. The Loyalty Rewards Program is the smartest way for your customers to buy because they earn free products and points. It's silly to order every few months.  Making sure customers understand the value of this program is essential to reaching your business goals and creating happy users. View this video to be sure that you know how to talk to everyone about this program and to maximize their rewards. Also, download this "Strength of Our Profession: A 4 Year Retirement Plan" video to fully appreciate the importance to your business (must download this Dropbox file to view).
